RHS School Country 2016 ~ Term 3

Monday 22nd August 2016

Who: Redhill school. (RHS)
What: They did cross country.
When: Monday 22nd of August 2016.
Where: Around Redhill school.
Why: It’s one of those days where you would have a little challenge against different house colours, just for fun. (Kind of like the school olympics.)
How: It wasn’t long, I walked around with Benjamin Nipu, Ngaata, and Ngaata’s little brother.

The School cross country!!
I got to school, nervous, and a little worried. Because we were having our school cross country.

(8:30) I went around to D’ blocks cloak bay, I was about to open the door. “It’s locked!) I said. So, I went around to the D’ blocks kitchen door. It was unlocked. I took off my shoes and socks, and walked into the cloak bay to put my bag on the shelf.

(8:34) I saw Matthew sitting on a bean bag reading a book. I went over to him. Sat on the green bag. I said “Hey” he replied, “Sup” Then I replied. “Nothing much” We laughed. We talked until the line-up bell rang.

(9:00) Me and the rest of D block lined up. Ready to get into class, Miss Castle came out, ready to lead D block into class.

(9:02) Um… Ok, Miss Castle called the roll, we did some work after 10 minutes. Can we just get into the cross country??

(Ok?…)

(11:00) We got ready for cross country. Me, Ben Nipu and Junior, sat under the Totara gazebo.
About 10-20 minutes later (Oh my gosh...) Year 8 boys got ready to run. I walked to the hill with Ben. 3-2-1 GOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I ran, but then I realised I was going to walk with Ngaata and Ben. So I did, took us about 20 minutes to get around, but I didn’t really care. But as soon we got to the obstacle course, I RAN!!! Jumped over the hay bale, hopped over the tyres, flipped onto the blue mat. And went under the tunnel. It said I came 3rd to last. (Because I was walking with Ngaata) But I wasn’t last, Ben was behind me.

(11:??) Ben said “Look Shayden, your dad!!!” I was like “AYE?!” I looked behind me. He was right there.. “Whaaa?” I said confusingly. He was going to be in the race. He came 7th I think? Thats a good placing!

(1-3:00) We finished up for the day, ready to line up at the hall to do the placings. I didn’t win but Jordan did, he came second place in the juniors race. But... A couple of days later I got a plastic gold plated trophy! For being the encouraging boy. (For real bro?)

THE END! :P

Matariki - What I have learnt.

I have been learning how to use a image tool called 'ThingLink'

I was interested in Matariki because, it's 7 stars are found in New Zealand, and New Zealand is my country that I live in.

Hey, click on some of those stars... You may end up somewhere else. One of those stars even has the story of Matariki.

Edit: I don't know why but the stars on this image were meant to take you to a specific website but they are not working. I have to fix that. Sorry!
